At Gordon Studio Glassblowers, we have more than 15 years experience creating custom glass artworks for Government, Corporate and Private individuals. We enjoy working with our clients to create beautiful and unique pieces, within their budget and on time.

On larger scale commissions we consult extensively, including onsite briefing and within the constraints of this necessarily fluid art form, we also provide preliminary sketches. Installation of the final artwork is expertly supervised

Contrary to popular conception, glass is a natural and enduring sculptural medium. It is one of the commonest man-made materials and in use for over 5000 years. Queensland aborigines used naturally formed glass (obsidian) to make knives and spears.

Today, Grant Donaldson uses glass outside to capture the most dynamic and fluid shapes of the Australian bush environment. Working with his clients, he carefully takes into account the particular Landscape in which the piece is to reside. Noting the plantings, buildings and background view, Grant chooses appropriate colours and forms, that will enhance the shadows and reflections, ensuring his sculpture will enhance the site, plus capture all the changes of daylight and seasons to best advantage.
